Wojciech Zając's story
My path into hospitality was unusual but deliberate. Before joining Accor, I ran a gym, and before that I was a Logistics Manager. Both these roles taught me responsibility, team management and, above all, working with people. It turned out these skills are also valuable in the hospitality sector. I have always been drawn to places where quality of service, relationships and positive energy are important – and that is exactly what I found at Accor.
My career in hotels has been one of intense development, learning and satisfaction. Thanks to my previous experience in management and organisation, I quickly found my feet in the new environment. I appreciate the opportunities for continuous development – both personal and professional – and the company’s openness to sharing knowledge and supporting employee initiatives.
What I like most about Accor is the atmosphere of cooperation and the real sense that we are a team. Every day brings something new; there is no routine. I also like the fact that I can influence guests’ experience and make their time with us more than just an overnight stay.
I would recommend hospitality to anyone who likes people, dynamics, and wants to work in an environment that is constantly evolving. It is a profession in which you can fulfil your ambitions regardless of your previous experience and find a place that gives you satisfaction.
Being a Heartist® is more than just a slogan for me, it’s approaching work with heart, authenticity and openness. It’s about creating positive relationships – not only with guests but also with the team – and giving my best every day.
I am most proud that I dared to change industries, take on a new challenge, and today, I can say that it was a great decision. Every smile from a satisfied guest, a well-executed project or the success of a team I am part of are moments that give me great satisfaction.
I would say one thing to new employees: don’t be afraid to be yourself or to ask questions. In this industry, authenticity, a willingness to learn, and openness to others are what count. Experience comes with time, but it is your heart and your approach to people that are most important from the very beginning.
