Othmane Benjelloun's story

I started my professional career in the call centre industry, an experience I consider very enriching.

This first step allowed me to develop essential communication skills and the ability to manage client relationships. However, I had a burning passion: cooking. It was this passion that naturally led me towards the hospitality industry. I dove into this world with the desire to learn and progress, and another key factor was the support and guidance from my brother, who was already working in the sector as a restaurant manager.

My passion for cooking led me to my first position as a Demi-Chef de Partie, where I was able to deepen my culinary knowledge and refine my techniques. My career then took a turn, and I decided to shift towards restaurant service, specifically as a Chef de Rang. This new role allowed me to spend 3 years at Hôtel 2 Ciels, where I not only perfected my customer service skills, but also discovered the importance of the customer experience in the hospitality industry. Thanks to this role, I was able to grow quickly and acquire solid team management skills.

It was during this experience that I was offered the responsibility of Maître d’Hôtel, a position I held for 2 years. This evolution marked a major turning point in my career, allowing me to strengthen my management and organizational skills.

Always driven by curiosity and the desire to take on new challenges, I applied for the position of Assistant Manager at Sofitel Tour Blanche in Casablanca. After 6 months of experience, a new opportunity arose: the position of Restaurant Manager at Novotel Marrakech, where I have been working for 5 years.

Each step of my career has allowed me to progress, acquire new skills, and thrive professionally. Today, I am proud of my journey and still motivated to continue my career in hospitality and catering.

One day, the General Manager spoke in front of the entire hotel staff to give an example of exemplary work. He mentioned my name and congratulated me for my proposal for the title of “Maître d’Hôtel”. This public recognition deeply moved me because it was the result of my hard work and dedication. It was an immense source of pride, knowing that my efforts had been noticed and valued by the management.
