Aicha Fadili's story
I have always known that I wanted to work in hospitality.
I studied at a hotel school in Morocco, where I discovered my passion for welcoming guests and creating positive, meaningful experiences for them. My first internship took place at the Beach Club Hotel in Agadir, and it was a defining moment for me. It showed me how important teamwork, organisation, and attention to detail are in delivering great hospitality.
After that experience, I completed a second internship in London at Momo, a Moroccan restaurant. There, I discovered hospitality in an international environment and had the chance to work with people from many different cultures.
Later on, I worked in the kitchen of a small bed and breakfast called Tower Hall, where I gained a deeper understanding of how every role works together to create a warm and seamless guest experience.
For a short time, I worked as a cashier at an ASDA supermarket, but I always felt that hospitality was where I truly belonged.
My journey then brought me to Luxembourg, where I joined Novotel Kirchberg as a housekeeper. I have continued my journey here ever since, and I am proud to say that I have now been part of this hotel for 10 years.
Over time, thanks to dedication, continuous learning, and the support of Accor, I have had the opportunity to grow professionally. I started as a chambermaid, progressed to first chambermaid, then to floor supervisor, and today I am delighted to hold the position of Assistant Housekeeping Manager. This is one of my proudest achievements, as it reflects my commitment, perseverance, and personal development within one hotel.
In my role, I support my team in maintaining high standards, organising daily operations, and ensuring that every room is welcoming, clean, and comfortable. What I love most about hospitality is the human connection. Every day, we meet guests from different places, and even small gestures can make someone feel truly welcome and cared for.
One of my greatest joys is seeing my team succeed and receiving positive feedback from guests who appreciate the comfort and cleanliness of their rooms. These moments remind me why our work matters.
I would wholeheartedly recommend hospitality to others, as it is a dynamic and rewarding industry where you learn something new every day and grow both professionally and personally.
Being a Heartist® means serving with sincerity and staying true to who you are. That is also the advice I would give to new starters: stay curious, keep learning, respect your team, and believe in your potential.
