Lena Scholz

Lena Scholz' story
I fell into hospitality by chance, but it quickly became my passion. I was drawn to the idea of creating memorable experiences for guests and working in a dynamic, people-focused environment. While it wasn’t my first career choice, it soon felt like the perfect fit.
It has been an exciting journey. I started in the front office and reservations, and then worked for a while in England, in the service department, gaining valuable international experience.
After returning to Vienna, I gained my first leadership role in reservations and front office. Later, I moved into accounting, learning about financial processes and management, and then I became a manager in the events department, taking responsibility for a team and organising large events.
Today, I am a manager in administration, bringing together experience from all areas of hospitality. Each step has taught me valuable skills, from guest service and leadership to financial, organisational and strategic tasks, and I’ve worked with amazing people along the way.
What I love most about hospitality is the people – both colleagues and guests. Accor’s values resonate with me, especially the focus on innovation, diversity and creating memories. Hospitality is so rewarding because every day is different and you get to make a tangible, positive impact on someone’s day or stay.
A career in hospitality is full of opportunities for growth, creativity and connection. You meet people from all walks of life, constantly learn new skills, and have the chance to see the direct results of your work in happy customers and successful teams.
Being a Heartist® means bringing your full heart to everything you do; it’s about genuine care for guests and co-workers, attention to detail, and creating moments of joy. To me, it’s a mindset as much as a role – a commitment to excellence with empathy.
One of my proudest moments is growing closer to my colleagues and spending quality time together, especially during my time in Tirol. It was incredibly rewarding to feel the strength of team spirit, overcome challenges together and create unforgettable moments – for both the team and our guests.
Stay curious, be open to learning, and always put the guest first. Hospitality can be challenging but with a positive attitude and a willingness to help, you’ll grow quickly. And remember, every interaction is an opportunity to make a lasting impression – so do it with heart.
