Samar Fekih's story
The hotel industry wasn’t my first choice at first, but beauty, well-being, and caring for others always were. After graduating as a beautician, I was drawn to luxury hotel spas, where the guest experience goes beyond a simple treatment: it becomes a moment of total escape. It was this immersive and sensory dimension that naturally led me to the world of hospitality. Today, I can no longer imagine my career outside of this refined ecosystem, where every detail counts to create a lasting emotion.
I began my career in a downtown beauty salon, where I acquired a solid technical mastery of facial and body treatments and relaxation techniques. Wanting to broaden my scope and deepen my approach to holistic well-being, I joined the spa of a 5-star hotel, first as a junior aesthetician, then gradually taking charge of more complex protocols, such as signature rituals, customized treatments, and stress management support.
Today, I work at an Accor hotel, where I combine technical expertise, empathetic listening, and a sense of hospitality. My role goes beyond simple service: I am a confidant, a wellness guide, and sometimes even a source of comfort for guests seeking serenity. I also participate in training new recruits and developing new protocols in line with the brand’s values of sustainability and authenticity.
The hotel industry offered me this opportunity: I joined a hotel spa where I was able to discover an international clientele and hone my skills by adapting my treatments to the diverse needs of guests. Today, I continue to grow in this sector, which allows me to advance professionally while remaining true to my passion for well-being.
At Accor, I deeply appreciate the culture of excellence combined with genuine humanity. The company values not only performance, but also authentic human relationships, diversity, and personal development. In the hospitality industry in general, what fascinates me is the ability to transform an ordinary moment into a memorable experience. Each guest is unique, each treatment is a story in its own right, and it’s this narrative and emotional dimension that brings my work to life, every day.
I recommend this sector to anyone looking for a career where people are at the heart of everything. Unlike many other industries, hospitality isn’t just about selling a product or service: it creates emotions, memories, and sometimes even turning points in people’s lives. It’s a demanding sector, certainly, but infinitely rewarding. It develops rigor, creativity, adaptability, and empathy. And above all, it offers a rare freedom: the freedom to leave a positive mark, every day, on the lives of others.
For me, being a Heartist® means embodying the art of caring with the heart. It’s not just about applying technical gestures, but also infusing them with intention, presence, and genuine listening. It’s about transforming each treatment into a bubble of kindness, where the client feels seen, heard, and respected. The word Heartist® perfectly sums up this alchemy between professionalism and humanity—and that’s exactly what I try to embody at every moment.
Among my most memorable moments are the moving feedback from clients who tell me they’ve regained sleep after weeks of insomnia, or who return specifically for a treatment I’ve personalized for them. But my greatest pride remains having supported a client in recovery after a long illness, adapting each session to her fragile needs at the time. Seeing the trust she placed in me, week after week, reminded me how therapeutic our profession can be, far beyond aesthetics.
Be curious, humble, and attentive – to your clients, your colleagues, but also to yourself. Master your techniques, of course, but never forget that it’s the quality of your presence that will make the difference. Take care of yourself too: you can’t offer serenity if you lack it yourself. Finally, don’t be afraid to ask questions, to constantly learn, and to let your personality shine. At Accor, we don’t ask you to be perfect, but to be authentic. And it’s precisely this authenticity that creates the magic.
