Keir Zaghlami's story
I started in hospitality in 2014 at Atlantis The Palm in Dubai – a friend who worked there recommended me. My first choice was sales, but I enjoyed hospitality because I like working with people and helping them.
I began as a Guest Relations Agent, then I worked as a Guest Service Agent, Receptionist and an acting Team Leader in Dubai. Later, in 2019, I followed the advice of a former manager and took a job as a Night Auditor at Novotel Suites Luxembourg to learn more and progress my career. After that, I moved to the day reception team for 1½ years. And in 2023, I became front office assistant manager.
I appreciate the fact that Accor trusts us to make decisions that help customers; we don’t always need to ask for permission. Accor cares about the planet, people, and guests, which is great for everyone.
I recommend hospitality because every day is different, and you always have stories to share; you also learn a lot.
To me, being a Heartist® means caring about people and doing my best to make them feel welcome and happy.
I am proud to have reached important goals and helped my team. In 2023 and 2024, we were one of Accor’s top hotels for guest experience, and we want to achieve that this year, too.
To new starters in hospitality, I recommend they find a mentor, learn from others and ask questions. It helps you learn fast and get better at your job.
